Akela was found just a week ago, abandoned in the middle of nowhere. Workers discovered a car with a dog thrown out, left in a state of pure neglect: skin and bones. When Akela was rescued, he weighed only 5 kg only and was immediately placed on IV fluids for nourishment. Since then, he has made some progress, now weighing 7 kg, but he still has a long way to go.
