Cheeto

Cheeto has truly been the best thing that has happened in our home. From the moment he arrived, he brought so much joy, love, and life into our everyday routine. He is sweet, funny, curious, and full of personality, and it is impossible to imagine our home without him now.\When I first considered adopting a cat from Qatar while living in Denmark, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. It felt like a big decision, and the distance made the process seem uncertain. However, after the first virtual meeting, where I met the ARQ team and little Cheeto, I felt reassured and decided to trust both the team and the process.
From the very beginning in February, ARQ guided me with kindness, honesty, and dedication. They always reassured me that they would take care of everything, and they truly did. Even during the very difficult circumstances caused by the war in the Middle East, the team kept constant communication with me, sending updates and making sure I always knew what was happening. Their dedication helped me never give up on bringing Cheeto home.
Of course, some people may ask why adopt a cat from another country when there are animals needing homes everywhere. But the truth is that there are so many animals in need in Qatar too, and if you have the chance to give one of them a forever home, they deserve that opportunity to be safe, loved, and to thrive.
I could not be more thankful to ARQ for everything they did from the very beginning. Even without direct flights to Copenhagen, they found a way to bring Cheeto as close as possible, personally traveling with him and four other animals. If that is not true commitment to this beautiful cause, I do not know what is.
Cheeto has changed our lives in the best possible way, and I will always be grateful to ARQ for making it happen. I could not recommend them more to anyone considering adoption.
Cleo

I found this small, helpless, injured kitten during my vacation in Doha. I'm so grateful to the animal welfare organization that helped me with the little cat. They really took excellent care of the kitten, helped her and nursed it back to health.
Her eyes were crusted shut and her paw was injured.
I’m so thankful to got the chance to take the little kitten by myself.
The entire process, from the initial planning and preparation to the flight and pickup, was perfectly organized. We were kept in constant communication and I never felt alone. Everything was clearly communicated.
The cat was already very well-behaved when she arrived. Cleo is very lively and loves to play. She also loves being around people and being petted.
The kitten settled in very well in our home within just a few days. She's coping really well with her injured paw. Cleo always has something to say and brings a lot of excitement to the house. We love her!
I can't say thank you enough.

Eliot

Eliot is a sweet 4 years old Havanese dog. He was rescued from the street by my husband and me after he has been dumped. We found him roaming in the street, tired and hungry. ARQ supported us to help Eliot receive the care he needed.
After 2 weeks spent at the vet to recover, we decided to adopt him. ARQ followed us in the process, they provided a great deal of help. From the beginning Eliot was sweet: he settled down well and started to affectionate to me, my husband and my son.
Day by day he started to feel more confident with us, playing, wagging its tail and looking for our attention. He loves the time at home as well outdoor with many other friends that he met. Eliot brought love in our home after we lost our previous dog and we are happy to have given him a second chance and a forever home!
Henry

Adopting Henry has brought so much joy into my life. I love coming home and seeing him waiting for me at the door. His purring is so cute and calming, and it’s adorable when he curls up in my arms for cuddles. His zoomies are hilarious and always make me laugh. He follows me from room to room and watches everything I do with curiosity. His presence makes the house feel warmer and less lonely. He was also already potty-trained, so that was convenient. Seeing him play and show his personality is incredibly rewarding, especially knowing that he once lived on the streets. The adoption process itself was also really smooth. Alice was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole process.
Zorro
Nina. (Netherlands)
Zeina (a saluki rescue from Qatar) got really lonely after her friend Nuria died. So I started looking for a new saluki girlfriend for her.
But then I came across Zorro... A sweet little BOY, a saluki MIX. I saw his eyes and knew he was the one...So I got Zeina got a BOYfriend!
We were so happy when he came to us by plane. Such a brave little boy, from the desert to a house, to a plane and another (cold) country. That is a lot, but he did great! We could finally meet in real life and I was happy to see Zeina cheer up and trying to become friends. We went home and started a new happy little family together. So Zorro became Ferran; 'brave traveller '. Which I think he really is.
I learned about his past... He had so many sad thing to deal with in his still short life. A lot of reasons for him to be agressive or scared but I could quickly tell that he was loved after being rescued. At first he was timid and had 2 little accidents in the house the first day, but that was all. He did 'his thing' in the park, on the street or the garden from the start. He is absolutely not agressive or anything. He loves to play, go for walks and explore new things, but also loves to cuddle and play couch potato.
He is with us for over a year now and he made friends with a lot of dogs and people and even has a girlfriend down the street (and yes, Zeina is a little bit jealous)!
So, Zeina and I just LOVE our little new friend. He is a happy, playfull dog, who likes to learn new things and meet new dogs and people. And in the end, he is a real casanova... he is great in stealing hearts.
Alphi (Alpha) & Omi (Omega)

We first adopted Alphi in Dec 2025. He came to us from Qatar as the most hilarious and entertaining little guy: super affectionate, very smart and very motivated to please - his prancing and dancing and smiling are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before in a dog. It was a very smooth transition adopting him - he had the usual fears and insecurities - but got over those quickly and he knows this is his new home.
Omi and Alphi were together in Qatar and so we agreed to foster Omi on his arrival to Vancouver March 2026. Things have not been as smooth with Omi as with Alphi but he is now also a much loved family member, and we are working on some of our challenges together.
The two “brothers” are happier together than apart and they’ve brought so much joy to our home. We are thrilled to offer them a great life in Vancouver and all around BC. Working on the things that rescue dogs sometimes carry with them seems a small price to pay given the joy that they bring, not only with their presence in your home but I really do believe that they recognize that they’ve been “rescued”. It’s a special type of bond.
Their days are mostly spent sleeping - especially as the weather is warmer. 4x walks a day. They’re mostly very good with other dogs and people. Alphis recall is very good. Omi comes when he wants. They’re good on leash. They’re happy and much loved dogs.
