EKO & KAI: Two Blind Siblings Find Their Forever Home

Updated: Aug 10

On June 3rd, 2026, Eko and Kai boarded a flight together — just as they've faced everything else, side by side, and touched down in the United States, where a truly kind family was waiting to give them the second chance they deserved.

These two came into our care after being found hiding behind a car on the street, dehydrated, anemic, and unable to see. It was a rough start for such small souls. Eko was also battling a neurological condition from an untreated infection that had spread to her eye and brain, and for a while, we didn't know what her recovery would look like. But with patient veterinary care and each other for comfort, both siblings grew stronger every day.

Eko, brave and playful, and Kai, quieter and more cautious, share a bond that carried them through it all. Blindness was never going to stop them from finding love, it just meant they needed a family willing to offer a little more patience and a lot more heart.

That family found them. Eko and Kai's journey took them across the world to a home that saw not their blindness, but their spirit — and chose them anyway, together, as the sibling pair they've always been.

Some second chances take a little longer to arrive. This one was worth every day of the wait. Welcome home, Eko & Kai. 💛
